Support the Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Council to protect Victoria's Aboriginal Cultural Heritage

Council Advisory Committees

The Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Council has established Advisory Committees which support the Council to make crucial decisions for the protection and management of Aboriginal cultural heritage.

Advisory Committee members are renumerated for their time, with meeting usually held at least once a month.

Who can apply?

Applications for Advisory Committees are currently closed.

A Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Council Advisory Committee member must be an Aboriginal person who:

  • is a Victorian Traditional Owner;
  • is resident in Victoria; and
  • has relevant experience or knowledge of Aboriginal Cultural Heritage in Victoria.

Council welcomes applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences, including people of different genders, people of all ages, people with disability, and LGBTQI+ people.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with growing experience in cultural heritage management to build their knowledge and expertise. We encourage those with an interest or background in the Committee's focus areas to apply and gain insight into Council's varied and important work.

How do I apply?

Please complete the Expression of Interest (EOI) form and email it to Council's office at vahc@dpc.vic.gov.au.
