Event attendance, opinions and wellbeing

We host events and functions that promote public awareness and understanding of Aboriginal Cultural Heritage in Victoria. These are undertaken with consideration for community wellbeing, attendance record management and the opinions of speakers and participants.

Attendance

Your attendance will be registered and contact details retained for future event correspondence from the Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Council. If you would like to be removed from this contact list, please email vahc@dpc.vic.gov.au

Opinions

The views of event speakers and audience members are their own and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Council or the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

Wellbeing

Every care has been taken to discuss the complexities of Traditional Ownership of Country as sensitively as possible. However, it must be acknowledged that even while taking this care, there can be deep sorrow and pain involved.

We are mindful of the emotional, spiritual and psychological wellbeing of our People when watching this event and encourage them to seek counselling or support through Elders, respected persons or other community members if they do find these issues upsetting. They may also wish to contact community agencies such as Aboriginal co-operatives, Aboriginal community-controlled health organisations, Beyond Blue, Lifeline and Headspace.
