Glossary of terms

Aboriginal Cultural Heritage

Refers to the knowledge and lore, practices and People, objects and places that are valued, culturally meaningful and connected to identity and Country; shapes identity and is a lived spirituality fundamental to the wellbeing of communities through connectedness across generations; and has been passed through the generations.1

AHA

Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 (Vic).

CHMP

Cultural Heritage Management Plans as defined under the AHA.

CHP

Cultural Heritage Permits as defined under the AHA.

Cultural Heritage see Aboriginal Cultural Heritage.

FPIC

Free, prior informed consent, as that term there is understood in relation to the UN Declaration and the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity, 1992.2
